Say Yes to the Dress

As a part of my new experience in the blogging realm, the team and I decided that it would be important to show a little more of “me.” In an effort to do so, I am opening up about some REALLY exciting news and sharing the thoughts currently racing through my head… Here we gooooo!

I am fairly certain that any creative will agree when I say that sharing your vision and creation with others is no easy task - it is a myriad of emotions. Vulnerability, suspense, excitement, fear and doubt surface while my heart beats out of my chest and I shake with adrenaline. Each time I open the doors to unveil our creations in their real life form, it is a gorgeous challenge. In just a few days, those “doors” are opening to an enormous audience around the States on TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress… did someone say knot-in-stomach??

As February 3rd approaches, my nerves are not about a lack of confidence for my craft, but more about the love and appreciation I have for our amazing clients. Putting their day into my hands and trusting that I can turn their dreams into reality is still so surreal. And it’s an honor that is indescribable.

As we take this next step, I wanted to put it out there that I am sincerely honored that the team and I have come this far, that I can share this journey with you and that you are actually watching!

While awaiting Saturday’s airing, here is a sneak peek of our featured elopement by Claire Morris Photography

You’ll Never Forget the First Time

There are only a few things that might be as nerve-wracking as your first performance- whether your singing in front of thousands of people, a ballerina, actor or… wedding planner, celebrant & florist. As Whitney and I have been conceptualizing exactly how to get this blog started we realized that going back in time 48 weddings and nearly four years to our very first was the way to go- start at the beginning!

Our first couple, Bridget & Brian, came to us not long after Style me Pretty featured our first photo shoot in Paris and through Le Secret D’Audrey who was shooting their elopement. They were at the beginning of their process with not much more than the idea that Audrey would capture it all. The South Carolina couple wanted something that was romantic, focused on them and no frills- or maybe just a few. and that gorgeous Amsale wedding dress was just the ticket! The main focus was on the ceremony location of which we examined many options- we went back and fourth before eventually deciding on my personal favorite- the sculpture “jardin” of the Musee Rodin. It is an enchanting setting in the middle of the 7th Arrondissement. The garden was of paramount inspiration to the sculptor and the chateau-style museum on the property was once in-fact his home. It is a prime example of old world elegance and a huge part of Paris’ history- the couple didn’t have the “think” twice.

After the ceremony which included a few “groom-tears” (which we LOVE) the couple hopped in an adorable vintage mint green drop-top CV2 for their portrait session around the city. They were followed by their videographer Duncan Wolfe who recently captured the last year of Obama’s presidency- go Duncan! To end the evening the newlyweds returned to a Haussmann-styled apartment they rented through us for a multi-course tasting menu prepared & served by a private chef.

A few Words from the couple: “Words can not express our gratitude for Billy and Luxe Paris Events. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. As you can imagine the logistics of planning a wedding even an elopement over seas is bound to come with some complications. Thanks to Billy we experienced none of that. He coordinated every detail and helped us with things that weren’t even on our radar- He even shipped my dress back to the U.S. for me!!! Who does that!?. The entire experience from start to finish was so seamless and an absolute pleasure. My husband and I are going on our fourth year of marriage and we still reminisce about that day, and our experience with Luxe Paris Events. If you are looking for a planner with impeccable taste and the highest degree of professionalism (who is also really fun) look no further!”
